Banyana Banyana international Mamello Makhabane back in action

Banyana Banyana midfielder Mamello Makhabane is back in action confirmed Bedfordview side JVW today in the morning following a long-term injury that sidelined her for a year.

Makhabane is affectionately known as “Jabu” after comparisons were drawn to the former Kaizer Chiefs dribbling wizard, Jabu ‘Pule’ Mahlangu who retired in 2014.

She reached a milestone in her footballing career when she played her 50th game for the Banyana against Botswana on 7 June 2014.

Grade 3 hamstring tear injury suffered by Makhabane occurred after the African Women’s Championships and Sasol Women’s League National Championship playoffs in December last year.

Due to having been a big miss in this year’s Sasol League campaign, Makhabane is expected to be a full force ahead of the 2018 season.

With no pressure, it will be all eyes on Makhabane following her passion and desire to showcase her talent against top players.
