YOU KNOW WHAT, it is another exciting time to unpack the awesome preview of Sasol League in Gauteng as the Alexander based team Blue Birds will be up against two times Sasol League National Champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies. This is one of the most promising fixtures to look up in future due to consistency and convincing build up from BlueBirds Ladies with players like Nthabiseng and Tshwarelo showing their desire to write their names on the good books of Sasol League. Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies have been quite clinical throughout the season banging goals and conceding fewer goals in 15 games played with 13 wins, 2 draws and zero defeats “UNMATCHED GREAT RUN IN THIS YEAR’S SASOL LEAGUE CAMPAIGN”. However Blue Birds on the side have shown promising and brighter side to represent their hometown in this year’s Sasol League with 15 games, 7 wins, 1 draw and 7 loses. In a nutshell taking everything into context Blue Birds will be tasked with overtime work due to Sundowns Ladies showing no remorse, sympathy as they thrashed out Pull Together in week 16 and coming into this week 17 fixture it is a good highlight for tomorrow’s action.

asked BlueBirds administrator key questions about the Sasol League and this is the response from their own respective home ground:

1.How is the mood of the team going into this crucial weekend against Mamelodi Sundowns?

It’s a difficult game, the players know the task ahead is going to be difficult. With half the quality players injured, it’s even difficult. But we will play with our strength and quality, we know if we work hard we have a chance.

2. How has been the #SasolLeague challenge so far this year?

The Sasol league has been difficult, with our great form in tournaments, we have created expectations. We have to maintain that, with a number of injuries, we found the season difficult.

3. What are your goals as a team this year?

The goals this year are to create a base for us to complete next season, but finishing in the top 6, to close the gap, we have been a surviving team, we are in a transition to be a chasing team, from there we will race.

The following are week 17 Sasol League fixtures that could be advantageous to a number of teams like University of Pretoria, TUT PTA and University of Johannesburg. Despite Palace Super Falcons are currently top the log standings in Gauteng with 43 points and Servol Ladies finding it challenging to grab their first victory in 15 games played with 2 points holding position 16.
